It’s that time of the year again. As the seasons shift from sunny summer days to the rich hues of fall… Who are we kidding? We live in SWFL!! LOL However, it is the perfect time of year to start getting ready for the holidays, parties, and family gatherings which means it is PEEL season!
In my previous blogs, I talked about the benefits of the Epi Wave which include promoting cellular renewal, helping to combat photo-aged skin compromised by long-term sun exposure, and deep pore exfoliation. In another blog, I explained what chemical peels are and why you should consider adding them to your facial treatments. Peels help with photodamage, pigmentary disorders such as melasma or PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation), fine lines and wrinkles, and dry skin. All of these can be caused by or exacerbated by the sun. Living in SWFL guarantees that we will be exposed to the sun in one way or the other and for longer periods than if we lived in northern states. Now that it is starting to go into the fall months, even if it is Florida’s version of it, it’s a great time to shed some of the old skin and get that healthy glow again!
A great facial combination is using the Epi Wave with a superficial peel. The advantage of using the Epi Wave is that it is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory which increases the efficacy of the peel and promotes a faster healing time. Two peels I like to add with the Epi Wave are:
Argipeel: Arginine is derived from brown sugar and is a large molecule so doesn’t cause irritation. This is combined with lactic acid so gains all the benefits of an alpha hydroxy acid. It is great for exfoliation, increasing cell regeneration, improved skin firmness, and diminishing hyperpigmentation. It is so gentle, it can even be used under the eyes!
Lactipeel: Lactic acid is derived from sour milk and is a natural human metabolite so not much chance for a reaction. It has a natural moisturizing effect on the skin and draws water molecules to the outer layer. Great for dry skin caused by the skin or otherwise. Lactic acid stimulates collagen, has a clarifying effect and gives the skin a more even toned appearance, removes dead skin cells and unblocks pores. This peel also has 11% DMAE which helps to increase the skin’s firmness.
My esthetician friend calls this treatment the “Ready, Set, Glow” because you are literally glowing the moment you leave the salon and for days afterwards!! It’s the perfect treatment for anyone that has a special event, a wedding, or if they just want to look and feel younger!
For the month of October, when you book an Epi Wave Facial, you will receive a chemical peel add-on at no cost.
That’s a $45 value for free!
