EpiWave Ultrasonic facial

If you have never had an Epiwave Ultrasonic Facial, you are missing out!! I have had all types of facial treatments and I can honestly say this facial is the absolute best! I know, I know… I am a bit biased, but it is the truth! I love that right after receiving a treatment, my skin feels so clean and hydrated and the skin continues to change in the weeks following.

Most people have heard of ultrasound technology at some time in their life. Obstetricians use sonographic imaging to monitor babies in the womb. Dentists use ultrasound to clean teeth which is very beneficial for its antibacterial properties. Ultrasound is a continuous cycle of sound waves at frequencies of 20 kilohertz and higher. The EpiWave uses ultrasound waves in 3 steps:

Step 1: Ultrasonic Peel/exfoliation

Step 2: Sonophoresis for infusing products

Step 3: Micro-current cell renewal therapy

The EpiWave is great for all skin types and especially for those suffering from acne and rosacea due to its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. During the first phase, the EpiWave “spins” the water across the skin in vibrations at a rate of 28,000 times per second! The upper portion of the skin is loosened, and the dead skin is whirled away stimulating the skin’s power of cell turnover and renewal.

The second phase of the treatment is the penetration portion. This phase creates temporary microscopic pathways through the lipid portions of the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the epidermis). The epidermis is the outermost layer of skin on your body. It’s what protects us from harm, keeps our bodies hydrated and produces new skin cells. While molecules in topical products are small enough to penetrate, some are too large and require a pathway. With the proper frequency, antioxidants such as Vitamin C and hydrating topical products such as Sodium PCA and Hyaluronic Acid can go where they are needed and not simply lie on top of the skin where they provide zero benefit. This is the difference between a regular facial and an EpiWave facial treatment. The EpiWave can infuse products down to the cellular level by using sound waves, thus creating real change in the skin!!

The last phase is the micro-current portion which helps to charge the cells. Microcurrent treatments help restore the natural electrical potential of the cell membrane to assist proper cellular function. The older we get, the more sluggish our cells become.  Scientists know that poor circulation leads to lack of oxygen. This in turn leads to the production of some of the more dangerous free radicals in the skin. Free radicals can cause serious damage to the body and especially have been linked to aging in the skin. Say what?!! I don’t know anyone that wants to age faster than they are supposed to!

There are many benefits to receiving an Epiwave treatment which include:

  • Deep pore exfoliation using distilled water and sound waves (Think power washing your face!)
  • Thorough exfoliation with no irritation or inflammation
  • Deeply delivered anti-oxidants such as Vitamin C
  • Promotes cellular renewal/turnover
  • Doesn’t use crystals or salts that irritate the skin
  • Safe and gentle alternative for those with sensitive skin in need of resurfacing
  • Helps to combat photo-aged skin compromised by long-term sun exposure

The EpiWave is very versatile in that it can be used with other treatments such as dermaplaning, chemical peels, microcurrent and microneedling. What does that mean to you? It means the results are going to be even more enhanced and the cellular turnover rate will be faster… healthier, more hydrated and even-toned skin! Who doesn’t want that?!

I hope this helps to explain the EpiWave Ultrasonic facial treatment. It truly is the best treatment out there and the only one of its kind. The results speak for themselves, just ask my clients!

Much love,

Jennifer
